What Are Lean Cuisine Drawbacks

Lean Cuisines are foods of convenience. They are a step above fast foods but a few steps below home prepared meals. Lean Cuisines are used in diets mainly and are great for those who would like to get on a diet but too busy to monitor calorie intake or not sure what to prepare and what not to.
The benefits of Lean Cuisines are they are fast; they are better then most fast foods and allow you to eat many of your favorite foods such as pizza, pasta, meat etc. without worrying about consuming too many calories.

However there are a few drawbacks to Lean Cuisines as well. First of all the selection is limited and even though they do carry many favorites, you still do not have as much of a selection as if you prepared the meal yourself. Secondly they are saltier then usual so as to preserve the food.

Since these meals are being prepared days in advance, there needs to be some way of preservation, and salt is the most viable option.

It is recommended that you consume no more then two Lean Cuisines a week, include a fresh serving of fruits and vegetables with your Lean Cuisines and consider taking supplements that will give you needed fiber and Omega-3 and 6 fatty acids. And after a Lean Cuisines, try to limit your intake of sodium so as to balance out the effect.

If these steps are followed, Lean Cuisines can be a viable option, still not the best but they will be a little more healthier then stopping by the nearest fast food joint and picking up a burger and fries.
